Customer Registration Procedure

To become a customer of SPP, the first step is to complete a Transmission Service Agreement for the desired types of service. For each desired form of service selected, two completed copies are required:

  • OATT Attachment A (Form of Service Agreement For Firm Point-To-Point Transmission Service),
  • OATT Attachment B (Form of Service Agreement For Non-Firm Point-To-Point Transmission Service), and/or
  • OATT Attachment N (Form of Service Agreement For Loss Compensation Service).

Please forward these, along with the following:

  • A cover letter that includes a statement that your company "is an eligible customer under SPP's Open Access Transmission Tariff."
  • Credit Application
  • A 24-hour contact person with their name, phone, fax, etc.
  • If your company is a not-for-profit customer as defined in Section 4.2.3 of the SPP Credit Policy, you will need to answer the additional Not-For-Profit Questions.
  • Your Dunn and Bradstreet (DUNS) number, financial statements, your current rating agency report from Standard & Poor's or Moody's as required by the SPP Attachment X (Credit Policy),as well as any other information you wish to have considered.
  • An executed SPP Credit and Security Agreement if you will be posting cash or a Letter of Credit as Financial Security.
  • Other information to assist with evaluation. If your company produces an annual report, this is appreciated. An estimate of the volume, in dollars, you anticipate your company will do with SPP per month will also help in our evaluation.
  • A billing contact and your wiring instructions provided using a completed SPP Bank Information Form. The billing contact will receive billing detail for each day you do business with SPP. They will also receive an SPP statement each month by fax and mail. The bank information will be needed in case SPP ever needs to send a deposit back to you.

Lastly, access the Digital Certificate Information to obtain and register digital certificates for access to the SPP OASIS.
