07/28/05 - Tranmission outage on the Creswell - Oxford line occurred at 03:46 CD on 07/28/05. The outage forced curtailment of non-firm transactions in the local area. The line is expected to be back on by 17:00 CD 07/28/05. SLQ
07/25/05 - Transformer #1 at Benton substation (a 345 kV to 138 kV transformer) went off line at 16:03 on 7/22/05. The cause of the failure is under investigation although a problem in the LTC is suspected. No affect on ATC has occurred nor is expected, however, this outage could affect the amount of local generation in the Wichita area that may need to run. - DLR
07/02/02 - The 230kV line between WR and Midwest Energy will be opened from approximately 0800 to 1800 hours to fix several structures due to storm damage.
02/08/02 Due to the recent ice storm, the 345 kV tie between WR and OKGE will be open. Extensive damage to the line in Oklahoma from the ice will require the line to be out of service. The estimated completion time for repairs by OKGE is June 15, 2002.
12/18/01 It has been reported that the Franks-Morgan 345 kV line will be out of service between 0900-1100 on 12/18/01. This will open the contractual tie between AMRN and WR during this time. ATC between AMRN and WR will be set to zero during the outage.
5/8/00 - The Stranger Creek - Craig 345 kV line will be out of service starting 8am 5/9/00 to relocate the line for road construction. The work is scheduled to last 10 days. Although this line represents one of the tie lines between WR and KCPL, there is no anticipated affect on ATC values between the two companies.
4/10/00 - The Wichita-Woodring 345 kV line will be out of service from 8am 4/10/00 through 5pm 4/11/00. This will reduce the path ATC between WR and OKGE to a maximum of 190 MW.
4/6/00 - The Marmaton-Litchfield 161 kV line has a forced outage as of 4/6/00 1700 Estimated out until 4/7/00 1700.
4/4/00 - The Wichita-Woodring 345 kV line will be out of service from 8am 4/4/00 through 5pm 4/7/00. This will reduce the path ATC between WR and OKGE to a maximum of 190 MW.
2/15/00 - The Wichita-Woodring 345 kV line will be out of service on Wednesday, February 16, 2000. This outage, in conjunction with the previously scheduled outage on the El Paso-Creswell line will open the interconnection between WR and OGE. The line is scheduled back in service late Wednesday evening.
2/14/00 - Segments of the El Paso-Creswell 138 kV line will be out of service between 2/14/00 through 2/18/00. This line represents one of the two lines that connect WR with OKGE, however no impact on ATC is expected.
11/29/99 - On Thursday, December 2, 1999, the Marmaton 161-10 switch will be out of service from 0800-1200. The Marmaton 161-20 switch will then be opened from 1200-1600. These operations are being done to perform maintenance on the switches. These interruptions will not affect the ATC between Western Resources and EDE or KCPL. It will open the connection between KCPL and EDE.
11/16/1999 - The Litchfield-Asbury 161 kV line will be open for maintenance on Friday, November 19, 1999 from 0800 to 1600. This line will open the path between EDE and KCPL. This line also represents one tie between EDE and Western Resources limiting ATC between the two companies to 194MW.
11/15/1999 - The Neosho-Northeastern 345kV line will be opened at the Neosho substation starting November 30 through December 3 to perform maintenance work in Neosho substation. This outage affects the MOKANOK line and will open the path between CSW/AMREN and CSW/AECI. ATC between Western Resources and CSW will be reduced to the thermal rating of the Dearing-Bartlesville 138 kV line (148 MW).
11/10/1999 - Effective 13:00 hours the Marmaton-Litchfield 161 kV line was restored to service. The closing of this line re-establishes the connection between KCPL and EDE.
10/27/99 - Due to line maintenance, the Marmaton-Litchfield 161 kV line will be out of service for the next three weeks. This outage affects the tie between KCPL and EDE. There is no loss of ATC between EDE and Western Resources.
5/10/99 - Due to an outage on one of the 345 kV ties between SJLP and KCPL, unusual power flows have been present on the Western Resources system causing Western Resources to open its tie with Kansas City, BPU (KACY). As of this time no schedules have been curtailed, however, all ATCs between Western Resources and KACY are zero. The outage on the SJLP and KCPL line is currently scheduled to last through Saturday, May 15.

Scheduled Line Outage (10/22/98) - The 345kV line between WR, AECI and AMRN will be opened between Neosho and Morgan for road construction on October 29 and 30. This outage will reduce the ATC value on the AECI to WR and the AMRN to WR paths to zero for these two days.
6/29/98 20:30 CDT- Sever storms
moving through NE and Eastern Kansas affected the Western Resources transmission
system. Although the damage had no direct affect on ATC values, it
did have short-term impacts on several generation plants causing WR Transmission
Services to be in contact with WR Generation Services to coordinate restoration
efforts.
5/11/98 17:00 CDT- Ameren closed its end of the MOKANOK line at approximately 16:30 today restoring the ATC between Ameren and Western Resources to previous levels.
